AESPA’s comeback to conquer the K-pop charts?
Girl group AESPA (aespa, Karina Winter Giselle Ning Ning) has proven its presence on various charts in Korea and abroad with its new single “Supernova”.
According to the group’s agency SM Entertainment on Thursday, “Supernova,” the double title track of AESPA’s first full-length album “Armageddon,” which was released at 6 p.m. on the 13th, has shown an explosive rise on major Korean music charts, including No. 1 on Bucks Realtime and No. 17 on Melon Top 100, proving that music fans have shown great interest in the song.
The song is also gaining popularity on global charts, topping the Digital Album Sales Chart, Overall Music Video Chart, Korean Music Video Chart, Tencent Music K-POP Chart and Kugou Music Digital Album Sales Chart on China’s largest music platform QQ Music, and the AWA Real-Time Surge Chart on local Japanese platform AWA.
AESPA also showed off its global influence on the iTunes Top Songs chart, topping the charts in Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Oman, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, and more.
“Supernova” is a minimalist dance track with a heavy kick and bass-based sound, while the lyrics compare the beginning of the event that opens the door to another dimension to a supernova, and the hip-hop vibe of the massive explosion inside of you, which is enough to make you feel the colour of AESPA’s unique “irony” music.
Meanwhile, AESPA’s first full-length album contains a total of 10 songs in various genres, including “Supernova” and another double title track, “Armageddon”. AESPA will be releasing the entire album on the 27th at 6pm.
