Hong Kong Influencer Ling Cheng Reveals “Lost Consciousness After Drinking Champagne at Burning Sun Six Years Ago”
Hong Kong influencer Ling Cheng (鄭金鈴) has revealed a shocking experience she had six years ago at the infamous club Burning Sun. On the 22nd, Cheng took to her personal social media to recount her visit to the club in 2018, sharing photos from that night.
Detailing the Night’s Events
Cheng explained, “In 2018, I visited Burning Sun because my acquaintance’s ex-boyfriend was a Hong Kong business partner of Seungri. That night, Seungri was DJing, and the club was packed with people,” she recalled. She added that the recent BBC News Korea documentary, ‘Burning Sun: The Women Who Exposed K-pop’s Secret Chatrooms,’ brought renewed attention to the Burning Sun scandal that initially surfaced in 2019.
Describing Strange Behaviors in the Club
Cheng detailed bizarre behaviors she observed inside the club. “Apart from throwing tissues to hype up the atmosphere, people were wearing black sunglasses and sucking on pacifiers. My friend told me that when you take drugs, your eyes roll back and you might bite your tongue, so they wear sunglasses and bite on pacifiers to prevent that,” she said. She further questioned why the police did not intervene, to which her acquaintance responded that the club paid a lot of taxes, and the police turned a blind eye.
Incident of Losing Consciousness and Subsequent Actions
Cheng continued, “We went to the counter and had a glass of champagne each, and then I lost consciousness. I hadn’t drunk much more than usual, but I got intoxicated unusually quickly.” She noted, “Fortunately, my friend and her ex-boyfriend realized something was wrong and took me out immediately. We reported to the police, suspecting that our drinks had been spiked.” Cheng emphasized that she wanted to raise awareness among the public through her experience. She also shared a photo of herself wearing a Burning Sun VVIP wristband.
The release of the BBC documentary has once again spotlighted the Burning Sun scandal. This renewed attention comes as the recent whereabouts of Seungri, Jung Joon-young, and Choi Jong-hoon after their release from prison have been disclosed.
