JYP’s Chinese artist Ivan Yao(yáo chēn) makes a splash in Korean music broadcasting
JYP Entertainment’s (JYP) Chinese artist Ivan Yao (yáo chēn) is making a splash in South Korean music broadcasting activities. Ivan Yao, a member of JYP China, released his album “L.I.V.E.” on 29 April and released a performance video of the title track “TURN UP” on JYP’s official YouTube channel.
Ivan Yao appeared on MBC’s “Show! Music Center” on 11 May and SBS’s “Popular Yo” on 12 May to perform his new song “TURN UP”. He then performed the Korean version of “TURN UP” on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on 16 May, leaving a strong impression on Korean fans. “TURN UP” is a powerful sounding song that fuses various genres such as pop, hip-hop, and electronic, and has a message for people living busy lives to dance to their hearts’ content without worrying. The lyrics “Focus on the now, shining now” effectively convey this message.

Ivan Yao made his debut as a member of the boy group R1SE (Rise) on the Chinese talent show “Changyoung 2019” before launching his solo career in 2021.
