NCT MARK releases single album ‘200’ today, the 16th.
NCT MARK will begin his voyage towards his first solo album with the release of his single “200” today. The single will be released in its entirety on various music sites including Melon, Flo, Genie, iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify on the 16th at 6pm, and the music video for the title track “200” will be released simultaneously on YouTube’s SMTOWN channel.
The new song “200” is a drum & bass song with a rock sound. It features an early 2000s-style electronic guitar sound and a lyrical melody. The fast BPM drums, synth bass sound, and fast-paced rap add to the fun of the song. The lyrics are a pure expression of the story of an unexpected love developing into a fateful meeting. MARK wrote, composed, and arranged the song himself, adding his own colour to it.
The music video for “200” wittily depicts MARK’s whimsical imagination and experimentation as he dreams of freedom. The visuals narrating the lyrics, the animation depicting surreal situations, and the vintage cinematography representing the rocking vibe of the drum & bass genre are all set to create a buzz.
The single also includes an acoustic version of “200 (Minhyung’s Ver.)”. Unlike the original song, music fans can enjoy MARK’s calm voice and emotions, and are expected to respond positively.
Commenting on the new single, MARK said, “The title track ‘200’ is a song that I’m looking forward to enjoying with Czennie (fandom name) in the upcoming summer. I think ‘200 (Minhyung’s Ver.)’ is a song that can be enjoyed more emotionally if you listen to it at night. The music video was shot like a film, which will be an impactful point. I remember having a lot of fun, even though there were some difficult parts of the shoot. I hope Sizni will enjoy watching it as well. Please enjoy the single ‘200’ a lot,” he said.
Starting with the single “200” and moving towards his first solo album, which is scheduled for release in February 2025, Mark plans to build on what he has shown so far to solidify his position as a solo artist and create his own identity. All eyes are on what the ‘convincing all-rounder’ will do next.
