HAERIN was born on May 15, 2006, in Seoul, South Korea, the first of two daughters, and grew up in Dongjak-gu and then Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. She graduated from Guiin Elementary School and entered Pyeongchon Middle School, but dropped out in 2020 during her junior year to become a trainee and take her GED. In elementary school, she was a member of the broadcasting club and was known among her friends as a pretty and personable student.
