Stray Kids Win International Short Film Festival Award with Self-Produced Content ‘SKZFLIX’
Stray Kids have won the ‘Global Spotlight Award’ at the ‘Short Shorts Film Festival &Asia 2024’ (SSFF &Asia 2024) with their self-produced content ‘SKZFLIX’. JYP Entertainment announced the news on the 7th.
The ‘Short Shorts Film Festival &Asia’, which opened on the 4th in Shibuya, Japan, is an international short film festival accredited by the Academy Awards and is the largest of its kind in Asia. This year, over 4,936 works were submitted from 114 regions around the world, highlighting the intense competition.
‘SKZFLIX’ is a music drama using the track ‘Leave’ from their mini-album ‘Rockstar (樂-STAR)’ released last year as background music. The content captures the process of Stray Kids members making a film as part of a movie club, showcasing their trials and errors.
Stray Kids expressed their joy, stating, “We had a great time filming ‘SKZFLIX’ and sharing wonderful memories with the members, and winning an award makes it even more meaningful. We hope to share the story of ‘SKZFLIX’ with more people.”
‘SKZFLIX’ is praised not just as a music video but as a work demonstrating the members’ creativity and collaboration skills, proving their talents in various artistic fields beyond music.
This summer, Stray Kids are set to perform as headliners at major overseas music festivals, including ‘I-Days’ in Milan, Italy, ‘British Summer Time Hyde Park’ in London, UK, and ‘Lollapalooza Chicago’ in the USA. Their recent album ‘★★★★★ (5-STAR)’ has also achieved high rankings on the Billboard 200 chart, receiving immense love from global fans.
