Today marks the ninth anniversary of MONSTA X’s debut.
MONSTA X, which debuted on May 14, 2015, is celebrating its 9th anniversary on the 14th, and has stood out as an ‘all-rounder’ group by making its mark in various fields.
At midnight on the 15th, MONSTA X announced the celebration on their official social media with the caption “240514 MONSTA X DEBUT 9TH ANNIVERSARY WELCOME PARTY.” The hashtag, which was congratulated by global fans, became the number one trending topic on X (formerly Twitter), proving its global popularity.
MONSTA X leader SHINee said through his agency Starship Entertainment, “I am very grateful to be able to celebrate our 9th anniversary with Monbebe (the name of our official fan club). It’s a moment when we realize that the nine years we’ve spent together have been worth it thanks to the members who have been relying on each other and the support we’ve received.” He continued, ”Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Jooheon, who are currently serving in the military, are back and healthy, so we’ll be showing you a lot of new and cool MONSTA X. Please look forward to the 10th anniversary of MONSTA X in the future.”
MONSTA X has been the epitome of ‘stair-step growth’ since its debut in 2015, breaking its own career-high records every year since then, and the word ‘believable’ is an indispensable adjective to describe the performance craftsman.
“If you compare MONSTA X to a tree, it was a seed, then a trunk, and now it’s a sapling,” Minhyuk said at the 2018 MONSTA X World Tour press conference. Six years later, MONSTA X, which celebrated its ninth year of debut on May 14, 2024, has become a “deep-rooted tree” that has grown into a large tree bearing fruits of various colors and flavors called monberries, without faltering despite the military service of more than half of its members.
His passion was confirmed in November last year when he appeared on stage as a special guest at Puerta Bourta, bringing a different look to the show. In the musical “The Great Comet,” which ran from March 26 to June 16, he played the character of “Anatol,” a soldier with an irresistible charm, and led the production with a high level of perfection despite it being his first musical.
I.M signaled his activity this year with the digital single “Slowly” released in January, followed by his third mini album “Off The Beat,” which proved his solo power, and will continue to tour in 18 cities in 10 countries, starting with his world tour “I.M WORLD TOUR 2024 Off The Beat” on June 25 and 26 at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul.
Meanwhile, to celebrate MONSTA X’s 9th anniversary with fans, the group will be hosting a 9th anniversary live broadcast on their official YouTube channel at 7 p.m. today (April 14), while members Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, and Jooheon are currently serving in the military.
