Webtoon ‘Zombie Daughter’ Set for Film Adaptation: Jo Jung suk, Lee Jung-eun, and Choi Yu-ri “Considering Positively”
Actors Jo Jung suk, Lee Jung-eun, and Choi Yu-ri are set to star in the film adaptation of the webtoon ‘Zombie Daughter’. On the 20th, the actors’ respective agencies confirmed to Ilgan Sports that they are “positively considering” the offer to appear in the film.
Based on the popular 2018 Naver webtoon by writer Lee Yoon-chang, ‘Zombie Daughter’ is a human comedy-drama about a father’s desperate struggle to protect his daughter, who has been infected by a zombie virus. The story follows the father as he flees to his rural mother’s home in an attempt to save his daughter.
If confirmed, Jo Jung suk will play Lee Jung hwan, a father trying to turn his zombie daughter back into a human. Lee Jung-eun will portray Kim Bam-soon, Lee Jung-hwan’s mother and the grandmother of the zombie daughter. Choi Yu-ri is set to play the pivotal role of the zombie daughter, marking the beginning of the story’s conflict.
The film will be produced by Studio N, a subsidiary of Naver Webtoon, with NEW (Next Entertainment World) as the likely distributor.
