ZEROBASEONE tops Japanese charts with new single “You had me at HELLO”
The group ZEROBASEONE has demonstrated its ‘fifth generation icon’ status with its comeback, topping the major charts in Japan.
ZEROBASEONE (Sung Hanbin, Kim Ji-woong, Jang Hao, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Kyubin, Park Gun-wook, and Han Yu-jin) released their mini 3rd album “You had me at HELLO” on the 13th of this month, which simultaneously topped the Japanese music site Line Music’s Live Album TOP100 chart and the Japanese iTunes K-pop chart.
The new album also topped the Daily Albums chart at No. 3 on Japan’s leading music site Recochoku and the Comprehensive Albums (Real-Time) chart at No. 2 on mora. “You had me at HELLO” also reached No. 3 on the mora Overseas Daily Albums chart, demonstrating ZEROBASEONE’s strong influence in the archipelago. In Japan, the album was ranked #2 on the Apple Music K-Pop Album Chart and #4 on the Apple Music Overall Album Chart.
Not only in Japan, but also on global charts. “You had me at HELLO” topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 23 regions around the world. The album sold more than 1 million copies on its first day of release, making ZEROBASEONE the first K-Pop group to become a “million seller” on the first day of release for three consecutive albums, starting with their debut.
“You had me at HELLO” is an album that tells the story of a young man who is overwhelmed by the happiness that love brings. With the new album, ZEROBASEONE completes the trilogy of young people who fell in love at first sight after a fateful meeting. The title track “Feel the POP” expresses ZEROBASEONE’s determination to present the best time to forget all the hesitations, worries, and troubles that every young person faces as long as they are with ZEROBASEONE.
